Silo cleaning including extinguishing function

We specialize in silos. Wenzel has been manufacturing its robust and proven TRK series for cleaning large containers for over 25 years. However, we are also happy to put all our expert knowledge into individual special solutions for you.

One example:

One of our customers from the chemical processing industry was looking for a concept for large-scale cleaning of its silos in combination with emergency spraying in the event of a fire.

The difficulty arose from the limited amount of water available, which had to be distributed to several silos in an emergency. In addition, a uniform filling with extinguishing foam had to be ensured and, of course, the silos had to be cleaned during normal operation.

Our solution came in the form of a self-rotating silo cleaning head with special long-range nozzles to cover the container diameter of 15 meters at low pressure. The spray geometry was adapted to the special installation situation in the silos in order to ensure water distribution in the required areas. In the event of a fire, the extinguishing foam is also distributed evenly and in sufficient volume via the cleaning head.

Thanks to the use of special materials and a great deal of engineering expertise, the cleaning head can also withstand temperatures between 3°C and 120°C and remains fully functional. In idle mode, temperatures as low as -15°C are even possible in winter.
